Young P.C. Peter Treves.
This must have been taken when Peter first arrived because he had
very blonde hair after spending time playing tennis in the sun!

We just heard from Ian “Paddy” Ackroyd who has a friend some of you may remember by the name of Jennifer Hosten who was crowned Miss World in 1970 representing Grenada.

Jennifer lived here in Bermuda on Burnt House Hill for a while in the 1970’s and she was good friends with another former colleague of ours, Peter Treves and his wife, and she would very much like to get in touch with Pete if  at all possible.

Jennifer Hosten  -  Miss World in 1970

Peter joined the Bermuda Police in 1970 and served here for 3 years, first in Central Division, then in Operations (Traffic) for a while before being transferred to Special Branch.   Pete was an excellent tennis play who played for our Police Tennis team, and I believe that after leaving the Police Force he became a tennis professional for several years at Sonesta Beach Hotel.

I'm sure someone told me they had heard from Pete in the last couple of years but I can't recall who it was.  If you have any idea how we could make contact with Pete would you please contact me at info@expobermuda.com    Would be delighted to hear how he's getting on these days.  I have Jennifer's email address and would be happy to pass it on to him.

Update -  18th September 2018

Roger Kendall has remained in regular touch with Pete Treves for many years, and Roger knows that Pete and wife were, until recently,  living in California, where Pete was a tennis professional.

When Roger first came to Bermuda in 1970 with two other experienced police officers, Kevin Hamilton and Bob Allen (all three had been delayed in coming out here because of pending court cases), they reported to Police Headquarters where Roger, who had been working in the Traffic Department in the Leicester and Rutland Police Force, was immediately posted to Operations (Traffic) and told to walk down the hill and report to Operations.  The first person he saw there was Pete Treves which was an incredible coincidence because the two had both attended the same school in South Africa as children.

Roger and Pete became good friends and remained in touch with eath other until about 2 1/2 years ago since which Roger has heard nothing from his old friend. We are making enquiries to see if we can trace Pete and will report back if we have anything to report.
