A HAPPY GATHERING -   We just received this group photo of a young man receiving a Bermuda cedar police shield (not the case of Heineken) and we wanted to know who he is, who else is in the photo, and when, where and why was it taken?  Unfortunately, the young man in question is rather blurred in the group photo so we also posted two additional photos to assist in identifying him.

Within 24 hours  we received the following from our good friend, Phil Taylor, who is spot on with his informationL-

"From the left: Alan Wilcox, Erskine Warner, John Dale, Barry Higham, star of the show, Martin Bowe, Peter Borland, Cyril Plant, Eddie Davies, Mick Ross and Dave Cook. Sitting in front guarding the Heineken is Dave Smith.

"Presumably this was the Traffic Watch saying farewell to Martin Bowe as he departs these shores with his new bride who worked at the Deputy Governor’s office and was moving to a different location. "

Martin served here in the BPS from June 1971 until May 1979 so the farewell "Do" must have been around May 1979. And the decor appears to suggest it was taken at the PRC.  The second photo is of Barry Higham, Martin and Erskine Warner on Martin's wedding day if the carnation on his lapel is anyhing to go by, and the 3rd photo is of Martin and his bride.

Many thanks to Phil for the information
