David Mulhall - Tragic drowning death
P.C. David Mulhall - 1964
We are deeply saddened to report that David Mulhall, who served in the Bermuda Police in the early 1960's, died in a drowning accident on July 20th 2013.
David, a long time diving and snorkelling enthusiast, had apparently been snorkelling near his home in Okanagan Lake, in British Columbia, and was pulled from the waters but died in hospital later the same day. He had been suffering in recent years from Parkinson's Desease.
We had been communicating with David for some time and he was in the process of writing his memours for our website. He recently wrote an article for us, "The BELCO Riot - A Police Officer's Account" describing the events that unfolded on Serpentine Road on the morning of the BELCO riot in 1965, in which he and a number of other police officers were injured. We have offered sincere condolences to his wife, Frances and their two boys, and have been advised that the family will be holding a celebration of David's life at their home on Sunday 28th July 2013. Our thoughts and prayers will be with them
