Supt. William "Bill" Bryan

A brief service was held for the Late William “Bill” Bryan at the Police Cemetery, Prospect, on Monday 4th July 2022, with a reception following at the BMDS in Hamilton.  Bill died at the age of 93 on Sunday 1st May 2022.

Attending the service were Bill’s two sons, Christopher, and Patrick with his wife Angela, along with nieces Alison and Amanda Bryan; Expo members who had served with Bill, including Dave Cook, George Rose, Roger Sherratt and John Skinner; representing the BPS were Assistant Commissioner Martin Weekes, and Chief Inspector Robert Cardwell;  and many friends of Bill and his family.

The service was officiated by the Police Chaplain, Rev Santucci, together with Reverend David Swain, a long-time friend of the family who also sailed with Bill.  Piper, Bonnie McDermitt, a good friend of the family led the cortege into the cemetery.

Bill had served in the Bermuda Police from 1956 – 1984, and having proved to be an excellent administrator he rose through the ranks to Superintendent and was the Office-in-charge of “A" and “B" Departments at the time of his retirement in December 1984.  CLICK HERE for more details of Bill published in our Latest News column in May 2022.
